Jake Morley
Fresh from his monthly residency at soho's Ronnie Scotts Club and with a debut album due for release in early 2011, Jake Morley brings his unique brand of songwriting and musicianship to the station sessions.
Playing guitar mostly in a flat 'lap' style, he combines finger-tapping techniques with percussive drumming at an incredible speed that leaves jaws hanging. When combined with his all-star band the results are extraordinary.
Songwriting is the real focus in Jake Morley's music however, and this is what attracted renowned producers Phill Brown (Bob Marley / John Martyn / Talk Talk / Dido) and Calum MacColl to record his debut album. The results have exceeded everyone's expectations and a busy period of touring and promotion awaits in the run up to its release.
